A Great Place to Start

Regardless of your political views- informed and knowledgeable health care stakeholders are going to be critical to solve the problems in health care we face today. We are likely going to be facing some tougher decisions- and we're going to need to have a basic understanding of how things work to make the right decisions.

The goal is to provide a single source for professionals, consumers, and interested parties to explore the many issues facing health care today.

The Library (organized by topic) includes over 500 studies, essays, and abstracts from many sources brought together in a single location. If you've heared about something on the news- we hope you can find out more about it here. The Library contains 15 different major areas about the primary health care topics. In addition to specific health care issues, the Library provides a chronology of some of the major economic issues we face as a country- health care is an economic issue as well as a social issue.

Health Care 101 provides some basic information on how we got into this mess and the roles all stakeholders (providers, employers, consumers, communities, and government) will be playing in the future. This section provides with some fundamental information about where we are, how we got here, and where we may be heading.

Health care literacy is important in health care. Billions of dollars are wasted each year because many simply don't understand how it works and how it all fits together (including some working in the industry today). The resources should simplify things a little. You still may need to do some additional searching for particular details- but we're providing a great place to start.
