Perspective Is Important, April, 2010

With the pace of the changes taking place in our lives today it is sometimes challenging to keep your perspective on it all. Perspective is defined as the relative importance you place on things at a particular point in time. It’s how you view the world. How you view the world can be influenced by many internal emotions and beliefs as well as external factors and directly effects how we think, act and make decisions.

Especially in a rapidly changing industry like healthcare, the way we see the world can dramatically influence the way we react to the challenges. Sometimes perspectives need to change as the environment surrounding us changes. A change in perspective can help identify new ideas and new opportunities not seen before. One of the biggest challenges we face in the healthcare industry is to change our worldview to accommodate the dramatic changes that are happening today and will continue to happen tomorrow. But, changing perspective is not always easy. And, sometimes it takes a slap in the head to make it happen.
