Our In-Lign Project Management Approach

It's How We Do What We Do That Makes Us Different!

All consulting organizations have--or should have--a defined process they use to guide your project along. We have one too--but focus on things a little differently than most.

Our In-Lign Process is a culmination of 30 years of experience in this industry and is designed to make certain your project begins and ends aligned with your mission, your vision, and your goals. Our process is based on relationships, collaboration, and communication. We help you visualize the results before we’ve even started. And, we’ll provide the leadership, direction, and plan you need to achieve your goals.

We utilize a number of unique tools to help you define and visualize your desired results and track your progress along the way. Our consultants build relationships within your organization and strive to be a valued resource to help you make the changes you desire. Maintaining these relationships, open communication and dialogue, and delivering results are the primary cornerstones of the In-Lign approach.

Our process is simple- but, putting it into action is an art; it’s not only what we do- but, how we do it that differentiates us from the rest:

  1. Initial Assessment and Information Gathering- We’ll use a number of tools and tactics to gather all the information that is necessary to help you define your strategy. We’re very good at gathering information and putting it into a format you can use going forward.
  2. Defining Your Project Scope- We’ll specifically define the scope of what you want to accomplish. As a mission-driven organization we’ll also verify your strategy remains consistent with your broader mission, values, and vision.
  3. Visualizing and Aligning- We like the Covey phrase- “think with the end in mind”. We’ll use some interesting tools to help you visualize where you want to go- before you get there.
  4. Putting the Project Plan In Place- We’ll develop the traditional project plan to define the resources, time-commitments, and accountabilities that will be required to make it happen.
  5. Communication, Communication, Communication- We’ll set up the communication channels and formats to make certain you know where the project stands at all times. We’ll also make certain all resources and team members remain aligned to your project goals. The main reasons projects break down is due to a lack of communication (or misunderstandings) and mis-aligned priorities.
  6. Monitoring Project Status- You’ll receive our summary reports and we’ll be scheduling regular time with you to make sure everything remains on track.
  7. Determining Success- All projects have a beginning and an end. However, we hope our involvement has a lasting impact on your organization. We’ll work with you up-front to determine your key indicators of success- and we’ll close out our process by making certain we’ve hit each one.
